I have always been interested in art, so a career
in graphic design came naturally. I enjoy my work and what it can do
to help people in their businesses and personal lives.
As a freelance designer I have the pleasure of working at home. My office
sits on a hilltop in the middle of a sprawling 40-acre woodland, the highest
and most picturesque place in Southwest Michigan. In fact, my friends
refer to it as my “Italian Hilltop.”
Here, I spend time walking with my dog Mercury, playing with my cat
Seymour and blissfully toiling in my herb garden to make fresh pesto for
dinner guests. Did I mention my passion for good food and entertaining?
Here is also where I practice yoga. Iyengar, Vinyasa and Para yoga
have been a part of my life for the past six years. I can’t imagine a day
without it – or how I ever truly lived before it.
I like being in the presence of joy, chocolate, yoga, wholesome food, good
habits and health. But not necessarily in that order. I love simplicity and
elegance and am good at finding them in simple, unexpected places. The
same goes for people. For me, mindfulness is the joy of gifting someone with
your complete focus. How else can we humans appreciate one another?
I aspire to make peace with my humanity, to open up to my divinity
and allow myself to be guided by a power greater than myself. For me,
it’s about how I live my life when I get off the yoga mat!
